When to call us

Call us if you have something in your eye, a scratch, redness, pain, discharge, or vision that has suddenly become blurry. We can remove debris from the surface of the eye and check for scratches afterward.

Red eyes and conjunctivitis

We carefully diagnose red eyes and conjunctivitis (pink eye) and give you a treatment plan that fits the cause, so you get relief quickly.

Foreign body removal

Accidents happen. Dust, debris or a small insect in the eye is common, and removing it promptly helps prevent damage to the eye.

First we examine your eye to find where the object is and what it is, using magnification and a bright light. Then we gently remove it with a fine instrument or by rinsing the eye. Numbing drops can make the procedure more comfortable.

Afterward we examine the eye again to make sure it is healthy and nothing else is needed, and we give you aftercare instructions to help it heal.

When to go to the emergency room

Go to the emergency room or call 911 for a chemical splash after rinsing with clean water, a serious injury to the eye, or a sudden loss of vision with other symptoms such as weakness or confusion.

Before you arrive

Do not rub your eye. If you wear contact lenses, take them out and bring them with you.
